Alignment & Roadmap
Many Business and IT Executives are looking for ways to increase traction in connecting Information Technology to the business. Companies are experiencing a variety of demands on their businesses, such as visibility into customer demographics, reorganization, increase business processing, and a focus on reducing operating budgets. LÛCRUM offers a proprietary Alignment process to engage members of your business and IT leadership teams to develop a vision for addressing your business challenges. These facilitated sessions can be as short as a ½ day or as long as 2 days, depending upon the scope and desired outcomes. A lot of our clients find that the sessions conducted off-site allow for more candid conversations between stakeholders. During this process, members of your team will collaborate and develop a joint vision for addressing specific challenges. These sessions have proven to be quite useful in developing both long and short term business and IT strategy road maps.
In order to ensure proper alignment within your team, this session will be customized to achieve several objectives
- Gain consensus on goals and objectives and determine the vision
- Discuss internal and external barriers to achievement of this vision
- Capture dependencies and key risks
- Identify gaps between vision and the current state
- Establish what the group’s priorities would/should be under the new vision
- Develop well-articulated action plans for the next phase of planning and execution of the strategy
- Begin to build political support for the new architecture strategy
The deliverables and their related activities are:
- Alignment Session Preparation – Creation of agenda, creation of slides, organization of venues, send invitation email toparticipants. (Includes meetings with sponsor to review the agenda and other materials and finalize).
- Facilitation of Session—Leverage the savvy facilitation of experts who have worked with both IT and Business organizations andunderstand the various challenges of working together. LUCRUM’s facilitators have their eyes and ears along with their speech centered on ensuring success for your Alignment Agenda.
- Session Findings, Assessment, and Recommendations –Gather and assimilate findings for the session. Identify alignment and gapsto the strategy among application groups. Recommendations include action plans for moving forward to close the gaps to executing the strategy, as balanced against current priorities and activities.
- Present Final Report – Present findings and recommendations simultaneously to all stakeholders. Establish final alignment onthe recommendations and determine next steps.
- Roadmap – Cohesive plan to continue to move forward in a unified direction. Presentation that lays out the big picture and priorities.
